About Refiloe

Refiloe is the second studio album by Cassper Nyovest. It is the follow-up album to his critically and commercially successful debut album ‘Tsholofelo’. Refiloe, which means "we have been given", is Cassper's real first name and is a unisex (male & female) name in Setswana (language).

The album art sees a digitally reworked picture of a very young Cassper taking centre stage, with a collage of his childhood memories serving as the backdrop. The nostalgic cover introduces us to his family; including his sisters, uncle and Tsholofelo at church.

Refiloe was released initially on 31 October 2015 at his Fill Up The Dome concert at the Ticket Pro Dome in Johannesburg, whereby the purchase of each ticket by each concert attendee, resulted in each one of them receiving an accompanying copy of his Refiloe album. This resulted in sales of over 20,000 copies of the album in a few hours of its first day.

Refiloe debuted a few days later on November 6, 2015 on iTunes. Within 30 minutes of being made available for download, the album peaked at top of the South African iTunes chart across all genres.

As of January 13, 2016, Refiloe was certified Platinum for shipments in excess of 40,000 copies domestically.
